Char Siu Chow Mein (Roasted Pork)

Here's how to make Chinese style char siu pork chow mein using roasted barbecued pork shoulder. This recipe tastes so good and is easy too!

Ingredients
 
 

  • 400 g Egg Noodles
  • 250 g Char Siu Pork
  • 3 Garlic Cloves
  • 3 Spring Onions

Chow Mein Sauce

  • 3 tbsp Oyster Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Light Soy Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Dark Soy Sauce
  • 1 tsp Sesame Oil

Instructions
 

  • Make the chow mein sauce by mixing together oyster sauce, light soy sauce, dark soy sauce and sesame oil in a small bowl.
    3 tbsp Oyster Sauce, 1 tbsp Light Soy Sauce, 1 tbsp Dark Soy Sauce, 1 tsp Sesame Oil
  • Heat a wok or frying pan on a medium to high heat and add a tablespoon of oil. Fry the char siu pork for 2 to 3 minutes.
    250 g Char Siu Pork
  • Add the diced garlic and white part of the spring onion and stir fry for 30 seconds or until the spring onions start to soften.
    3 Garlic Cloves, 3 Spring Onions
  • Add fresh egg noodles into the wok and stir fry until the egg noodles have heated up, this should take 2 to 3 minutes on average. Sprinkle the remaining spring onions and stir.
    400 g Egg Noodles
  • Pour the sauce over the egg noodles and stir until it thickens and coats the noodles.

Notes

If you're using dried egg noodles, once the noodles are cooked and blanched in cold water. Drizzle some oil over the noodles to prevent it from clumping and sticking together.
