Homemade Baileys Tiramisu
A creamy, rich and incredibly boozy Bailey’s tiramisu, one that you don’t need to set in the fridge for hours! Here’s how I make it…

If you haven’t tried Bailey’s tiramisu before, then your life is about to change, for the good. Picture this: lady fingers soaked in a strong coffee and baileys mixture, layered between a smooth Baileys mascarpone filling.
I like to make this dessert at Christmas, purely for the adults, and it always goes down a treat! It’s quick and easy to put everything together too, although it does require one hour chill time in the fridge.
I usually make it the day before and leave it chill in the fridge overnight, ready to serve the next day. But I’ll admit, I’m known to start eating away in as little as 1 hour. The flavour is simply too hard to resist.

Recipe Ingredients
The ingredients I used are listed below:
- Baileys: If you don’t have Baileys, you can use any other brand of Irish cream instead.
- Lady Fingers: Light and airy biscuit, also known as sponge fingers.
- Coffee: I like to use 3 lungo shots with Starbucks Italian roast Nespresso pods (intensity 11), so it’s really strong. If I’m using instant coffee, then I mix 3 tbsp with 300ml of water.
- Mascarpone: Use full-fat mascarpone cream.
- Double Cream: Use full-fat double cream.
- Icing Sugar & Vanilla Extract: Avoid using granulated or caster sugar as it will not dissolve in the mixture.
- Cocoa Powder: To create the classic tiramisu topping.

My Top Tips
I prefer a thick and creamy texture, that’s why there’s more mascarpone to double cream. If you prefer a looser texture, I recommend mixing the cream fillings together than slowly add in extra double cream (or baileys) to loosen it up.
Don’t soak the lady fingers in a hot coffee mixture as they’ll turn mushy instantly! Let the liquid cool down first, I like to make the cream filling in this time. If you’re using instant coffee granules, mix it with cool water.
I Want To Add More Baileys!
I don’t blame you! I think at 120ml the Baileys flavour really comes through, but you can always add more or less to your taste. Bear in mind, the more Baileys added the looser the cream texture will be, adding too much will turn the texture runny. Add a small amount, mix, taste then review.
How To Store Baileys Tiramisu
I do not recommend freezing. However, if you have any leftovers keep it in the fridge for up to two to three days.
