Ingredients

  • 200 g Raw Prawns (Deshelled And Deveined)
  • 4 Slices Thick White Bread
  • 80 g Sesame Seeds
  • 1 Egg White
  • 2 Spring Onions Chopped
  • 2 Garlic Cloves
  • 1 tbsp Cornflour
  • 1 tbsp Sesame Oil
  • 1 tsp Light Soy Sauce
  • ¼ tsp Salt
  • ½ tsp White Pepper
  • ½ tsp Sugar
  • Vegetable Oil At Least 3cm Full

Instructions

  • Place the prawns, egg white, chopped spring onions, cornflour, sesame oil, salt, white pepper, light soy sauce, garlic cloves and sugar into a blender or food processor and blitz together until a paste has formed.
  • Spread the prawn paste mixture up to the edges and equally over the 4 slices of bread.
  • Place the bread (prawn side down) into a plate or bowl of sesame seeds and gently press down, the sesame seeds will stick to the prawn mixture.
  • Heat oil on a medium heat and place the bread (prawn side down) into the oil, fry for 1 to 2 minutes on each side or until the sesame seeds are golden. A temperature of around 180°C is perfect.
  • Place the fried prawn toast on a plate lined with paper towel to absorb excess oil. Then cut the prawn toast into four triangles and enjoy. They taste great served with sweet and sour dipping sauce.
