Oven-Baked Dumplings
Dumplings cooked in the oven? Swimming in a red curry and coconut milk sauce? Sign me up!!! Here’s how I make it…

It’s not often that I’m left speechless, but these baked dumplings do it to me every single time!! If you’re a fan of dumplings, then you’re definitely going to love this too. I mean, it hasn’t gone viral on TikTok for no reason!
I fill a pan with a Thai curry and coconut milk mixture that’s garlicy and sooo tasty, then I add a bunch of frozen dumplings to it, bake it in the oven, and what comes out is utterly delicious.
And may I add, it’s ready in just 20 minutes…

Recipe Ingredients
Below are the ingredients I used to make this dish:
- Dumplings: I used two packs of frozen Itsu gyozas in their king prawn and pork flavours.
- Thai Red Curry Paste: I like to use Mae Ploy Red Curry Paste.
- Garlic: Mince your garlic or alternatively dice it into small pieces.
- Liquid Seasonings: My go-to combo is sesame oil, dark soy sauce, and a splash of fish sauce.
- Coconut Milk: Any brand of coconut milk is fine to use
- Toppings: To finish, I like to add a sprinkling of sesame seeds, chilli oil and diced spring onions.
How To Make Baked Dumplings
Here’s a summary of how I make this recipe. You can get the full recipe instructions on the recipe card below:

I start by adding all the ingredients to my baking dish (apart from the gyozas), and give it a good mix until everything is mixed together.
I add the dumplings to the dish, lining them side-by-side (pinch side up). Then I spoon the mixture over the gyozas and bake it in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the dumplings have softened and are heated all the way through. That’s it!
My Top Tips
Make sure the oven is preheated. We want the oven temperature set so that the dumplings can start cooking straight away, it also helps prevent the dumplings turning super soggy.
Feel free to completely customise this recipe, you don’t have to use red curry paste, you can use Gochujang or green curry paste instead. I like to use this recipe as a base and then add more ingredients like bok choy and baby sweetcorn to it.
I recommend eating this dish straight away.
How To Serve
Where do I start! My go-to pairing is with boiled rice and a side of leafy green veggies (like in my pictures). You could, however, have the dumplings by itself like a soup or serve it as a starter.
There are no strict rules with this, you can literally have it how you want.
